Technologies for supporting collaborative design processes in product development based on spatial computing (SPATIAL-CoCreation)

Enabling immersive co-creation and guided collaboration in virtual and hybrid product spaces

Conceptual visualization of collaborative spatial computing, enabling immersive co-creation and guided multi-user interaction across virtual and hybrid product spaces.

Project description

SPATIAL-CoCreation explores and develops novel spatial computing–based interaction solutions to support guided, collaborative presentation and design processes in product development, sales, training, and brand communication. The goal is to create an XR platform logic for immersive “guided tours” that enables multimodal interaction (gaze, gesture, voice), clear leadership and navigation paradigms, and equal participation via XR headsets as well as conventional 2D devices.

The project focuses on realistic visualization, social presence through avatars, multi-user collaboration, and integration into existing enterprise systems. Through a user-centered development and evaluation process, SPATIAL-CoCreation delivers practice-oriented demonstrators for industrial walkthroughs, interior and product configuration, and emotionally engaging brand experiences. In doing so, it lays the foundation for scalable, location-independent, and economically viable XR solutions for collaborative product and experience spaces.
