AI-based methods for photorealistic 3D model generation (PiNeRo3D)

Enabling real-time digital twins for commerce, education, and immersive experiences

AI-powered reconstruction of real-world objects into interactive 3D models.

Project description

The aim of the project is to simplify the creation of 3D models that can be rendered in real time on standard consumer devices. The focus lies on photo-based generation of digital twins of real-world objects. In addition, we investigate how existing complex 3D models can be rendered more efficiently than is currently possible. As a key technology, we rely on the latest AI-based volumetric methods for 3D reconstruction. New approaches will integrate these into the processes of data acquisition, processing, storage, and rendering at rooom AG. The software modules to be developed will ensure a robust and scalable implementation within the overall framework of rooom AG. The improved efficiency in model creation promises new business opportunities in marketing, e-commerce, education, and training, for example through virtual showrooms, interactive product presentations, immersive learning environments, and virtual events.
