Teaching cultural knowledge interactively and immersively using mixed reality
Teachers can curate virtual learning content and make it accessible to students via various immersive devices
Project description
Cultural excursions allow a better examination of history or art, for example. However, this cannot always be integrated into the school curriculum due to financial, geographical and time constraints.
In the project, the auto-adaptive mixed reality technology from 2Sync GmbH is to be used to enable virtual excursions. The application covers the real environment like a second skin. Virtual elements can be placed in the room as holograms, physical objects such as furniture, walls or ceilings can be virtually transformed and the entire room can be placed in a new world.
The technology developed will enable teachers to virtually experience the classroom with several headsets within minutes. The project aims to investigate the feasibility of new learning opportunities and the resulting business models.
