Project description

The KIX – Knowledge Incubator is a research and qualification hub at Mittweida University of Applied Sciences. Its goal is to establish an open innovation ecosystem where students, researchers, and external stakeholders from business and society collaboratively work on future-oriented topics. At its core, KIX connects technology, application, and business to enable knowledge transfer and the development of new application ideas. Through participatory formats such as co-research, workshops, and mentoring, KIX promotes interdisciplinary exchange and the development of digital competencies. In addition to research at the intersection of AI and XR, new forms of teaching and qualification are explored. The resulting space enables the creation of practical solutions and innovative business models. In this way, KIX strengthens the university’s innovative capacity and contributes to the digital and economic transformation of the region.
